Taco Palenque

Was stuck in Laredo,TX over the weekend and I got my fill of Taco Palenque. Any ex-cargo pilots out there who miss that good old stopover in Laredo? Hopefully I wetted a few tastebuds!

I miss spreading the styrofoam containers of Taco Palenque across the Falcon Dash and enjoying it cruising at FL350. We even would bring some back home with us for our dispatchers, it was some good stuff.

Taco Palenque is one of the best things about Laredo. Open 24 hours too - perfect when you get in late from a all day trip. Ummm....

At our company, it's almost a standard catering order when we're passing through. Very tasty!

Hi!

I just ate there at the restaurant for the first time (it's always been take-out or catered and eaten en-route). It's a pretty cool place, unless you hate Mexican food. It's kind of like a Mexican McDonald's, but if ours was like that, a lot less of our citizens would be dying, as they are now from the food at McD's. TP has a number of (relatively) healthy selections, vs. McD's.

You get them at the outside vendors there on the cargo side(old PAX terminal).

Ahhhh Laredo..

Taco Palenque has to be one of the best reasons to spend time in LRD. Ofcourse the other is La Posada Hotel, a block from the border and a cab ride from Boys Town. (Well, at least I've heard it's only a cab ride.)

If you like it in Laredo, there is one in McAllen too. Try El Taco Tote in ELP. The same thing, and just as good. Palanque is the only reason to go to LRD in my book.

Palanque is awesome. Just get 1-2 fajita tacos..there is enough meat to make 2-3 per order. Get extra tortilias and bag up on the sauce. Now for Beer head across the border and grab a Victoria Cerveza and some Viagra if ya want Gringo. Now I'm not sure why they don't sell that stuff stateside probably has something to do with the FDA and tapeworms but **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** thats good beer.
