How does this relate to regional airlines?
To those that lost money HAHAHA you get what you PAY for!

This same thing happened to Airline Training Academy in Feb. of 2003....over two hundred students lost collectively 3+ million dollars. I know several who were affected by it and it has bankrupted several other individuals as well.

I think it relates to airlines in the fact that they proposed to start a new "Florida airline". They had already bought and painted several B-1900 for their new startup.

Very sad indeed...

It's not sad it's stupid! The planes were probably bought with money from morons parents and others to lunkheaded to realize that it was a bad idea from the word GO.

There are no shortcuts in life only bad mistakes that have happened and are waiting to happen! Look at the rate of problems airlines are having with these type of wunderkid. Ask any captain at almost any regional and he/she will probably tell you the same thing. I can pay money to sit in the right seat of a transport category airplane and answer the radios and work the flap and gear. Does that make me a better pilot? No, it makes the person in left seat work twice as hard to ensure I don't eff something up.

RANT OVER

Was TabExpress the group that showed the guy in the construction outfit...complete with hard hat....standing outside a plane? That ad always bothered me...

The only thing im worried about is weather or not key bank is still lending money to other pilots for training? I just cleaned up my credit so i could lend through them and start flying more.

From what I've seen and heard, NO. I know someone who tried through Key Bank for a Flight Safety Program with a co-sign from "Dad" and was declined due to the school, not the credit. Key Bank has now dealt with 2 major bankruptcies, ATA and TAB, for multi-millions of dollars. They also have their share of lawsuits because of the closings.

Try Sallie Mae, Nellie Mae, or PLATO (Career Education Loan). They worked with me.

LTG

Or do what I did and get a crap load of low APR credit cards. I also turned a wrench at the school I was at to put a little money back in my pocket. Depending on your other abilities IT,bookkeeping, plane washing fueling you can do it on your own.
