"Today, your board unanimously approved the formation and funding of a Strike Preparedness Committee. This step is extraordinary considering the history of the relationship between our Union and our Company. Although this is an unfortunate development, it is one that all of your elected representatives feel is necessary at this stage in the mediation process.

The reasons for this decision are:
For more than three years, we have bargained in good faith in order to seek an agreement that recognizes your contribution to the success of Southwest Airlines and our intent is to continue to do so despite not having reached a proposal to our satisfaction
We need to prepare for continued unacceptable and insufficient offers
Southwest's financials are exceptional
We remain hopeful that the Company will recognize the role that SWAPA pilots have played in helping them attain their market-leading position."

Times have changed. :cartman:

Gary Kelly and his fellow execs are not listening to his pilots. He is sweeping the pilots and their complaints under the rug, like dirt. Gary Kelly cares less about the Happy Go Lucky, culture of LUV at this airline, and more about lining his pockets with profits. The good old days of SWA are over.
