Does SW still have the program where an employee like pilots can spend a day doing another employee's job? Just saying, so don't hate but I think it's a great idea and will give a good perspective if us pilots see what is like working the ramp or other job for a day.

Yes, but only for ramp position I think.

Yep, couple times a year. It's called Cutting Edge as SW. Employees (mostly pilots, but I have seen FA's and Cust. Service Agents as well) can go out on your day off and work the ramp alongside the ramp team.

It definitely DOES give you a "bigger picture" on how things are operating down there.

Cheers!

Oh boy, that sounds like fun.

Do I get to put in the gear pins and hide the flags...or maybe sneak into the cockpit at night on an RON and switch off the EECs?

Both of which were done to me BTW.

Probably done for the same reason we can't leave an electrically powered aircraft unattended. Some of the stuff they do is completely asinine.

Who knows,... and I'm just spitballing here... But maybe someone did this to you because of your demonstrated sparkling and sunny disposition! :)

That could certainly be...

Or maybe it was because the airplane I was operating was parked overnight in a SW city and painted in AT livery.
