SWA Trip pay?

How does the SWA trip pay work? What is a "trip" and how does it calculate? Is there a monthly guarantee and how does that work. If someone could explain this whole system I would appreciate it, I'm not the brightest bulb in the chandalier.

bottom line: a trip = about 55 min of flying.

We have a great system that lets you adjust your schedule to meet your (reasonable) goals. Work as much (or as little as you want). If you live in domicile you can really clean up. You're a slacker? That works too - its your paycheck ... I'm just starting my third year and I rarely work weekends, (every major holiday so far - but that comes from being junior) I work about 12-14 days a month for 120+ trips for pay most months. I know guys who work about 10 days a month and guys who pull in 150 TFP.

Before you go to the bank be aware the ivauir is an exception to the rule. Yes you can pick up, extra fly, and VJA/JA to make additonal money, but the average line is close to 93-95 trips per month. I've been here 6 years and have never exceeded 110 trips. I normaly fly 12-13 days a month and average about 95 trips. Its work to get into the 120's and above. No argument here, I spend a lot of time on the computer and I have been known to go way over my 12-14 days of working a month (I get greedy). But there are many guys who make me look like a slacker.

You really need to live in domicile to do more that 100. My main point is just that we have a lot of flexibility. In the summer I just fly my line and I can't believe how rested and relaxed I feel.

I tried it your way one month .... wow... way too much like working a real job I'm glad you do it though, keeps our CASM down.
