Why is that so hard to believe. You are being bought by another company. You no longer will have longevity with your company and you will have ZERO with the new company. Just because you will be on the SLID doesn't mean you get longevity. Relax, you are still making out good. Nobody said you will not get it but it is something that SWA will decide not you or any laws that you seem to be quoting.

Ouch!

Relax bubba. They will keep their longevity and you will keep your seniority (percentage wise that is). Everyone will be happy.

Wow. Really? Where is *THAT* written? That an airline can just wholesale abrogate someone's longevity and change it at any time they wish? Wow. Just... wow. (shakes head in disbelief)

Hey guys.....my comments on here are well thought out and honest and I definately dont bash SWA or any other airline. If I had no life and decided to read every post and do a tally of who "bashes" whom more, I would imagine my research would show that Airtran is "bashed" many many times more than SW is. I do know that there are folks on here that are not employees of where they claim to be, which is sad that anyone has the time to play in imagination land. As for the actual employees that "bash" each other......well that doesn't help creating a healthy culture. I'm confident that the unions will work something out that gives everyone a pretty fair SLI. Telling Airtran pilots that a staple is fair, or I'm going to be on probation, or lose longevity are pretty rotten things to say to another pilot. If the Airtran pilots agreed to anything remotely close to that, the rest of the airline industry would claim that Airtran/SWA "once again ruined the industry". The result of this integration/SLI will affect all the airline industry. In the short term, Jetblue and Alaska may be acquired. That could set a precedent for a staple of a healthy airline. Lets imagine that SW/AAI integration took many years and costed many times more that projected. 10 years later SW doesn't grow and a legacy attempts to purchase us. It would be sad for them use this future SLI as collateral in justifying a poor SLI for this ficticious acquisition in 10 years. Food for thought.

Cometman, in the real world things don't work that way . . . if you really don't understand it, educate yourself about the AirTran CBA, successorship, McCaskill Bond, etc. instead of just telegraphing your ignorant fantasies for everyone to see.

It's obvious what you are trying to "accomplish" here, but I think you're going to find that this type of action will have the opposite effect. . . . People who are normally reasonable and fair-minded read stuff like this and say, "Well, if that's how you feel about us, screw you, we'll take it to the mat".

Of course, no one can tell you anything, Cometman, Bob Dylan, Orangebelly, Bill Nelson and pals, so keep on doing what you're doing, but don't be surprised when you reap what you sow.

Thanks for explaining it. I am so glad you are here to straighten things out. However, time will tell. Did you go to the same law school as Lear70? I think you once mentioned that longevity is different than seniority. I guess you changed your mind on that subject. Have a good day. And again thanks for keeping everybody straight on these things. We would really be in a bad situation without your expertise.

Yes

There is nothing I want more than to have a great company after this is over. I have not flown with or talked with one person that wishes to "screw" the AT pilots. Every SWA pilot I talk to is concerned about this deal. No one is excited!!! That speaks volumes......

I agree, this has been my observation too.

An arbitrator is only concerned about seniority. Everything else is negotiated

bump! What do you think about them apples? Just wondering ;)

You're more than welcome to contact the webmaster and put in a request to moderate. More help would be appreciated, as it's getting kind of old, the same old idiots who keep violating the ToS, even though they *KNOW* things are violations of the ToS.

Then again, I'm getting a little "punchy" and probably need to take a FI vacation for a little while. The hostility I'm seeing on here every day probably has more than a little to do with it... :/

You're actually not as bad as the other one clr4. That dude has a serious case of napoleon syndrome.
If you want to have the respect of a moderator, then you should completely remove yourself from anything AAI related (mod or just regular poster), because you've proven time and time again you can't do both.
I wouldn't want to clean up this joke of a web board. Let's face it, whoever let it get out of control, it is waaaay out of control. There is no real information exchanged here, and most people use this board as a place to vent/bitch/insult/whatever. point is, long time ago when you had the chance to nip this thing in the bud, you (or whoever decided to let the flamming/insults go on as long as it didn't violate TOS) didn't, and now it's out of control, and this forum is a laughing stock. Now, to try and clean it up is a joke, and you and your cohort clr4 are flexing your muscles, and being taunted for it. Did you know, he banned me for no reason. His reason-------> ask and ye shall recieve. When I said I thought I would get banned for talking about him as a moderator.
Just an opinion. Do what you want with this post, as I'm sure you will.
Best.
