Guys,

Need some in sight into swa scheduling. With the followings assumptions: off probation and not worried about making guarantee - How easy is it to drop trips or reserve days? Is it possible to work more of a part time schedule if ya choose to?

Thanks!

If you can get another pilot to pickup your weekend trips or Reserve at straight time, then you can drop them. If....;)

Dropping reserve over the weekends is probably not going to happen, but definitely put in for give away. Very rarely it will get picked up. Other than that, your kind of stuck with it. Trips are similar in that people that hold weekends off aren't usually looking to fly (unless premium from the company), so those trips probably won't go either..although it's a higher probability with trips getting picked up vs. reserve.

I forgot to bid back in November and ended up with 4-day weekend reserve. I was able to trade 3 out of 4 blocks for hard line and then able to adjust days in ELITT.
You could just request a leave of absence.

GOO

Thanks for the help guys.

They do. One of our more (in)famous senior guys just got back from a year of sailing around the world. Timing is everything!

Key words, Famous, and old.

If you are an astronaut, a pro football player, or a flyer for Red Bull, maybe as well.

Maybe if they really believe they are over manned, maybe. But since they are hiring, and since they like to publicly blame all the schedule problems on the 117 rules, not so much.

The original question was directed to SWA pilots. Hey score, shut the ******************** up. Sorry you hate your ********************ty life. At the end of the day, I still work at the best and you're still an ***********************************. ******************** off!!! Goo
