Dude,

Seems like if the service was that terrible, SWA's load factor would be closer to 100% and UAL's in the 60% or so. Not talking profits at all in this situation....
For someone with "plenty of time" you may want to read.

When our loads start getting near full, we add a flight, then another flight, then another flight. Whats better, one flight a day that is 90% full while losing money, or 12 flights a day at 75% that all make money? We typically stick to the 12 flights/day plan. However you should call Gary and let him know his plan is flawed.

I agree SWA is doing it all wrong...thank goodness there are those that figured it out. Gary and Herb are all ears since they have yet to figure it out.

SW has some big shoes to fill in Denver. I'm curious to see if the Colorado politicians will fly on SW when its their only choice, since I see them all the time on F9 flights.

Well, if there are no more F9 flights then the politicians have the choice of flying on SWA or being spit on at United.

I think they will take SWA.

>>>>Sounds like you got spit on by United...at the interview?<<<<

Maybe it changed but many years ago, I found UAL's interview process the most unpleasant interview experience out of all the airlines. AA ranked a close 2nd. Arrogance on the part of the interview people and just plain cold. Made you feel like a #. Emphasis was on stupid systems and FAR questions instead of finding out what type of person you were and ridiculously dumb tests. SWA was one of the more pleasant interview experiences.

Very true statement. Some did experience the unpleasant interview...and thus results in MOST United bashing....ones that got turned down.

People either quit trying for United and moved to other companies or tried again and alot of them got the job on the second interview.

Two.

The United interview stunk. Don't know if that was by design, or just a function of the personalities of the HR department.

For whatever reason though the pilots on the line are a great group, with a few exceptions. Laid back, confident, experienced, and professional.

Never had the chance since I'm a white male. Even if I got hired I would be looking at my second furlough.

Go United. What a great airline...

By the way, SWA 35 years of consecutive profits and zero furloughs. Of course, 70% load factors are bearing down. LOL!!!

You are correct...United turns down all the white males that apply....LOL!!! but if you had applied and had the confidence to try....then you would have taken the job and got furloughed twice...20/20 hindsight.

SWA will take over the world and UAL will go out of business.....yawn to both.

this is an awful thread--
SWA guys-- stfu... seriously, what would herb or colleen or gary say to you if they heard this? Compete, but stfu about it-- at best you're arguing that the sun is going to rise tomorrow-- everyone knows it will- of all the airlines today- you still need to prove something?
In a time when a lot of pilots are in awful positions- it's terrible to gloat-- which is why so many have bad vibes about United too. Truth is- except for you 10%ers, pilots are pilots- There are a great bunch of pilots at F9, UA, and WN.

Seriously serious, or just kind of serious?
I believe that this website is an Aviation Interview Board. The thread started with the post about 2 classes in Aug. I dont believe that is gloating.
What would Herb or Colleen or Gary say if you told them to "STFU?" Practice what you preach homey.

waveflyer,

I think it's exactly comments like these that make GK and Herb think that you guys aren't ready to fly outside the lower 48.

Might want to get some equipment to compete on the international level then.

Now that is funny! You do not get it. There is NO competition when one of you is not making a dime! Game over. UA is struggling to stay alive. They are getting 300 million more in debt each passing week. SWA is making money. United is not interested in fighting with SWA, they are sick and just want to heal. Who cares if UA has any international routes..they make NO money!!! The airline is bleeding to death. That is a fact. This is why they are grounding ALL the 737 and a lot of 747. First UA has to stop being a public service and start making money domestically then, they can compete with SWA. But, by then SWA will be global....:)

I think they were spit on my the lovely gate agents in DEN and well, I can say it, any city UA flies to. They all seem to be well trained in excellent customer service..hmmmm, did they call if "the friendly skies?" Oh wait, the gate agents are on the ground...so that did not apply. Dang.. bad marketing plan by UA. OR it is genious....treat the customers SO bad on the ground that when they get on the flight and see a rude F/A, it won't seem so bad. (and no I never interviewed at UA...Thank Goodness)...do I sound bitter? :)
