If you have a current First class medical the day you start class, as a first officer do you ever have to get another First class? Or can you keep getting a Second class every year until you upgrade?

Thank you,

You must have a first class when you go to class but it may lapse to a second class. Every time you get a new medical it must be a first class. In other words, you have to get a first class once a year. I hope that answers your question.
