Figure 90 trips each for your first two months. You belong to training so there is no oportunity to make extra.

Also there will be no per diem during this time. Later, Once you are on the road, per diem will pay about $500 a month tax free.

As soon as you are done with IOE you can start working the system. Extra flying that you pick up from the company pays at the second year pay rate -- better than time-and-a-half. You should easily be able to pick up two days a month using this system averaging 5 trips a day or better.

So in your equation, your first two months will pay 90 and the remaining months will pay 90 plus whatever you are willing to pick up plus perdiem. Don't forget the raise in Sept.

I just did the math, you'll gross about $53k your first 12 months.
If you pick up nothing you'll make $46K. If you are a wh*re, you can do 60K or more; but because you are gone so much, you'll also be single.

You may not be single but your yard will go to sh!t, the dog bill try to bite you, your beer keeps disappearing from the fridge and the mailman will have a silly grin on his face.

So you get a line guarantee while in new-hire training. Where do most newbies stay in DAL. Crashpads?

No way goggles

It is at the Renaissance hotel on SWA's nickel. It is a sweet hotel. If possible though... I would drive to big D. Having a car down there during training was very nice. Not required.... but very nice.

Happy T day

Since SWA pays by the trip, can anybody give the monthly guarantee of trips similar to other airlines having a monthly hour guarantee?

According to the SWAPA contract here is what the lines, to include VR, will pay no lower than. Most months the line pay more than the minimum. On top of the scheduled line is what you pick up via give aways, EF, MOT, DOT, JA, & VJA. But if you just fly your line this will be the minimum TFP. During new hire training you will get the minimum guarantee.
31 Day Bid Period - 89.0 TFP
30 Day Bid Period - 87.0 TFP
28 Day Bid Period - 85.0 TFP

Reserves will get a minimum of 90 TFP except in Feb when the guarantee is 85.0 TFP
