SWA New Hire domiciles? LAS?

I assume all new hires are going to OAK, but has anyone heard any different?

I've got a SWA buddy that said they've lost 85 FO's to military call-ups. Presumably, there's vacancies all over the system. But I'm sure there are OAK guys looking to get out.

Also, any news about the Las Vegas crew base? KC?

SWA had 86 pilots called up for military duty of which 81 were F/Os. In April SWA reduced the system wide total of Capts by 20, so with 1 new class coming on line this added 40 F/Os. OAK is still the base that all the new hires go to. As for a base in LAS, that & TPA are still the hottest rumors, but don't expect to see a new domicle until 2004 (if then).

I've heard so many rumors that I just don't listen anymore. I just heard one today about a contigency plan should the economy suddenly improve. EVERBODY in the pool better start packing for Dallas if it happens.

Don't ask for details because it is just another optimistic rumor, which of course I hope is true.
