YO!

I'm one of the LUCKY folks in your warm pool awaiting a class date in December/January and was wondering...

I know you guys use a program called Moostro or something of the sort for bidding.... my question is, I am a Mac user. Is there something similar for Mac people or do I need to get a copy of Virtual PC? Am I going to run into any other limitations with my beloved Mac or are there alternative to Windows?

Suggestions would be appreciated.

There is Wbid for bidding, and Moostro if you are too lazy to open a chart. You don't need either, but you can pay for it if you want. Free Wbid to use in crew lounge. Dunno about Mac.

What Is Moostro, Anyway?
Moostro is a system that provides you with a program that reduces your workload and increases your efficiency. It is a program that you install on your computer that enables you to capture your flying from Maestro or Wbid, store payroll reports, and then print all kinds of useful things that are detailed below. It displays a calendar which you can customize with different colors and fonts, comments or appointments, and publish your schedule to our web site or to an Adobe Acrobat file.

Why do I need Moostro? -- 'cause it's got cool stuff! (and the first 90 days are free!)
These are the cool features:

  • Trip Sheets with expected routes and ATC frequencies.
  • Hotels and phone numbers for overnights on your trip text.
  • Printed calendars-- 8.5 x 11.0 and pocket sized.
  • Add "comments" to your calendars for personal appointments.
  • Publish schedules to our web site, or .pdf (Adobe Acrobat) for emailing.
  • Capture and save payroll reports--then view or print them from Moostro.
  • Send your schedule to Microsoft Outlook.
Backup all of your data to a compressed file.

WBid is the premier bid sorting application for Southwest Airlines Pilots and Flight Attendants.

What kind of Computer do I need?

WBid works with Microsoft's Windows operating system. You will need a computer capable of running:
Windows XP
Windows 2000
Windows Me
Windows 98 (or 98se)
Macintosh running a Windows XP emulator
