SWA Jumpseat denied for PSA & PDT

Could anyone at Southwest please get in touch with your jumpseat coordinator and help us out? We need help getting in touch with him and getting an update as to when your jumpseat will be available to us again. Here is the problem.

Last fall southwest updated the software they use on their computers at the gate. When the agent goes into the southwest CASS section of website the agent can only enter in 7 characters for an employee number. PSA and Piedmont have 8 characters in our employee numbers and this makes it impossible for a gate agent to check our information in CASS.

On a side note. Many of the gate agents are under the impression that if they can't clear us in CASS then they can't let us ride in the back if there is in open seat. Some fellow pilots have tried to explain to them that CASS is only for the cockpit jumpseat and that we still have reciprocal agreements for travel in the cabin, you can imagine how well this goes over when you tell the gate agent she doesn't know what she's talking about.

Anyways, can anyone please help? It's becoming a problem for some guys here and it's not really fair that you can ride on us and we can't ride on you, this has been going on for nearly 6 months.

Yup, affected me last month trying to visit the Fam out west. PDT mgmt seems to have the attitude that SWA is too big to even communicate with.
 
Let your union jumpseat coordinator handle this. Trying to do an end around only pisses the big boy off.

I hate to say this, but if this has been going on for 6 months then we just need to start denying jumpseats to SWA folks, then I am sure the ball will get rolling on this.

6 months is more then enough patience.
 
Update, I believe a few folks here on FI that work for SWA looked into the situation.

Hopefully this won't be a problem in the future.
