Since it looks like all of us wrinkled-poolies will be out by the middle of next year, I had some questions about IOE.

How long is the flight time requirement for IOE at SWA?

Is it normally at the base which you are assigned for familiarity sake?

Is it true that you have a hard line for a month once off of IOE? I had heard that was the case.

Thanks for all the informative posts on this website. Keeps me from having to call LL all the time and bugging her. Look forward to seeing everyone in Dallas soon.

IOE is usually a 4 day trip of at least 25 hours. You can usually choose where you want to do it but check pilot availability can be a factor. Houston and Dallas don't work well because all the 200s are there and you won't be trained on it. After IOE you go to your temporary domicile (your choice except Houston or Dallas) to finish the month. After this you go to your awarded domicile, probably OAK, and you get a hard line your first month to finish up your 100 hours.

You guys will probably only spend a month on OAK if hiring goes as rumored. Thats a good thing unless you are into the gang scene. Wear Raiders stuff if you are dumb enough to walk around.

Any word, when and where SWA will consolidate the dwindling -200's over the next year? It seems by the end of 2004 there will only be a couple -200's left.

the word on the street is they will all go to DAL early next year and be gone by years end.

Gangs of Oakland

JHill,

Thanks for the information. Just curious, I am a big- time Cowboys fan. Do you think those guys in Oakland will mind me wearing my Cowboys' paraphernalia, or would I be beaten on the ramp???? I mean, they beat em 52-13 last night in a meaningless game. lol

Happy Flying,

RB
