Just heard from a pilot that a WN flight bound for MDW had a wheel well fire indication. They decided to divert to ORD due to runway lengths and blew all tires on landing. Anybody else hear anything. ORD is now on a ground stop due to this incident.

The picture on TV of the airplane at ORD that had a wheelwell fire didn't look anything like a SWA jet. The announcer said it was a "con-air" flight. Maybe he meant Comair, I don't know.

Apparently the fire was put out & all got out safely.

Will be interesting to hear more details.

Sorry about the confusion but it turned out to be a Planet Airways 727 full of prisoners. The plane was a charter for the US Marshalls Service.

A 727 full of prisoners can easily be confused with a Southwest jet. (Just a joke, I love the Southwest people--very nice to jumpseaters)

Bye Bye--General Lee:D ;)

In the meantime, here's this thread started about Southwest and it's not even true. Where is the justice?

BTW: That was good General.

good bet

You can bet, though, that at least the prisoners had their clothes on.

; )

MUST...TURN...APU...OFF....

(Paranoid note to self on day one of 727 FE class.)

As long as there is thread creep...Goose...how long are we gonna be stuck sideways on this slave ship?

well...

To hijack this thread,

I pray for an October aircraft bid, at Fed Ex, big enough for those that desperately want to move from the 727 noisy-'donkey' panel. I-4-1 would love to look forward again for traffic at 12 o'clock. On the flip side, darn glad to be here and darn glad to have a job.

Darn glad to have you, Goose

Just remember Goose, I like my coffee with two sugars. . .

Coffee. . .

Promises, promises. . . . .

Goose!

You slay me! :D :D

More thread creep: How do you get a retired pilot off of your front porch?

Pay for the pizza...

another one...

A joke a captain told me on a previous trip;

Why shouldn't a first year probationary pilot eat the catering on the last leg?

So his kids don't smell food on his breath!

Why are Pilots like Seagulls?

...Because all they do is Squawk, Shi#, and you have to throw rocks at them to make them fly.

Back to the regionals forum, see you in 10 years at FDX/UPS hopefully. Good luck.
