  • Net income, excluding special items: $550 million
  • Total passengers carried: 88 million
  • Total RPMs: 78 billion

On Tuesday, Delta Air Lines announced a $19 million profit in the fourth quarter of 2010 and $593 billion in annual profit.
- Delta lost $1.2 billion in 2009, $25 million in the fourth quarter

General,

When this all said and done I'm still going to work for an awesome company and you will still go to bed at night wishing you could be me.

kisses,
Gup

Ooops, you forgot this part from the above article...is that 3 times the amount of annual profit that Southwest had? Looks like it. And I didn't change the above, but look what you copied about the Delta annual profit-----a staggering $593 BILLION? That is what you wrote. Thanks. I guess we are the most profitable company......IN THE WORLD.....

Excluding special items (e.g., merger related cost), the fourth quarter profit was $158 million and the annual profit was $1.4 billion.

- Profit sharing expense was $313 million in 2010, $38 million in the fourth quarter

DL gave an extra $313 million to it's employees, and that might not have been included in the net profit. DL paid down $2 billion in debt last year, too. Also, this second quarter alone generated about $700 million in free cash flow. Sounds like things are going fairly well as of late.

When you try to compare us, it just doesn't work. Apples to Oranges. DL is a Worldwide carrier, with big and little planes, flying to each corner of the WORLD. Your airline, albeit the largest DOMESTIC carrier in the US, flies to each corner of Texas. You fly a smaller plane (for great money as of now), with multiple leg days mostly. If pilots want to fly domestically at Delta, they can. If they want to fly both INTL and domestic, they can too. Or, they can bid the large widebodies and fly almost all INTL. It's great for variety, and when it comes down to it, the pay is better than almost every other legacy, and will meet and beat your own payscale eventually, with opening talks starting soon for the next contract. Thanks to the Airtran guys getting your SWA pay, it makes the job of equalling that pay even easier. Thanks guys. Again, you're just a domestic carrier with great pay (a big Regional Airline), and without that high pay, most would bail looking for adventure. The culture may be lost anyway there with your merger with Airtran, especially how you are treating them right now.

But, you do rule Texas. Enjoy that. And you no doubt envy INTL carriers when you taxi past them on your way to Little Rock. Someday, you dream, you may go INTL too, and maybe even talk to Toronto Center. FANTASTIC for you! And what about Hawaii? How long have we been hearing that one? Last time you gave that to ATA, and even after they went away your management thought it was too tough for you. If you have problems, ask the Airtran guys what to do.

And when you do go to bed at night with whoever you picked up at the saloon, you most likely are in a West Texas town or in Boise, ID. Sounds like a lot of fun for you. I bet you bought all the guys beers with all that money you make. You might be the richest gal in El Paso. And, NO kisses from me, EVER.

$593 Billion in profits? Really? Time for huge pay increases. Did you tamper with the article GUP?

Gotta love the General. The chief apologist for Delta giving away their flying. Care to defend the paycuts next?

A very precise definition of General.

A Delta/DALPA apologist.....or spin master.

Like Bagdad Bob. (there are no foreign troops on Iraqi soil)

Dorks are back, pretend you don't notice 'em and don't make eye contact, maybe they'll go away. Or at least get the hint.

Crap they saw us! Let's act like we have to go somewhere now.

Are you asking for a copy of that too? Your vast ignorance of all things SWA is showing.

So, was the General wrong? Did Gary Kelly sign the agreement and did it include a section allowing the AT guys the option for arbitration for the SLI? Don't be so evasive, answer the question. Yes or no, and don't stutter.

No, the target is on your group. Many of us hope for arbitrated SLI JUSTICE for the AT guys, and this is entertainment. They will gain so much with this merger. It's great. You won't be making eye contact with anyone when this is over, that's for sure.
