The big question in training right is which flight bag works the best. The choice is between the 8 inch or 7 inch bag.


As far as the training goes. take what you think it will be like and it will alot better than you could ever image.

Based on info from this board I got the 7" and it seems to be plenty big and is easy to maneuver in and out of its place. (at least one guy in my class was already upset about his 8" bag after 3 sims, it was a tight fit he said)

I've used my 7" for my IOE (all 29 hours or so) and I seem to have plenty of room. So, unless I figure out I'm short a book or something, I'm happy as can be with the 7".

Since you don't have to carry the FRMs around, you really only need your Jepp charts and plates and FOM, add a flashlight, headset and whatever else you want, 7" is plenty big.

I would think you'd need/want an 8" if you plan to carry a laptop in the chart bag, though.
