Hi there

Is anybody have any news about SWA hiring. I heard couple of my friends got call for fingerprinting? Just want to know the scale of this which can be a good indication of the plans for the coming 2003 hiring.

As John Wayne once said in one of his WWII movies, "If you believe 10% of the good rumors and 100% of the bad ones you'll do just fine." Bottom line, we will be hiring a fair number next year, but how many is always up for grabs. We have 50+ pilot retirements, 13 additional aircraft for the fleet I believe (above our -200 model retirements), and we usually hire 10 pilots or so per aircraft. So to me that spells 180 as a good starting point. We are trying not to go hog wild and ruin our comeback from 9/11, so don't expect 500, but I would guess 180 is a good low ball figure.
