depends, most don't bid for leg length, just days and am/pm split. So, 2 days do go more senior, but not for leg length.

Usually longhauls have 14hr ish overnights. Depends as it changes all the time, sometimes you get 20 hr in LIT for whatever reason, then you get 20 in BOS, then you get 14 in SEA, who knows why.

Cool, thanks...

I try to not only max out my pay and days off, but also try to find fun trips that have a good amount of block during the day but have a lengthy overnight in places where I have friends or family and have fun while I'm on the road, since we spend so much time out there. :)

On a serious note, question for the SWA guys and gals: I like a short leg followed by a long leg followed by 18-22 hours in LAS or SFO, 7 hours for the day, 20 hour 3-day trips or 26 hour 4 day trips (I have one starting on the 26th with 22 hours in LAS). I'm not all that fond of 4-5 leg days every day for that same 7 hours of block and a 12-13 hour overnight in MLI or LBB. ;)

LAS is a crew base so don't count on any overnights there. I never cared for any of our hotels there anyway. No loss.

I bid a fair number of three day/6 leg (total) trips. They overnight anywhere from 14-19 hours and generally pay pretty well.

Do the 2-leg days with longer west-coast flights and longer blocks with long overnights exist in the SWA system and how senior do they go?

This kind of flying is usually interspersed with 6 leg a day trips, so if you are hard over for these, you'll probably have to trade to build the line you really want.

It seems to me that most people bid some combination of days off/pay and don't pay much attention to number of legs. I was able to hold fat long haul trips as a new hire, but no a whole line of them.

I like a ............... 20 hour 3-day trips or 26 hour 4 day trips

Our 3 days pay a minimum of 19.5 TFP and 4 days pay a minimum of 26 TFP. As far as leg length goes you will just have to shop around. We have any mix you would want.

The Fat 2 days are starting to show back up, Just did a two day out of MCO, went Mco-LAS- AUS Overnight, reversed it back the following day, Paid 18.6 Trips (x1.14 for hourly pay I believe). I am Junior and work 2 or 3 legs a day stuff often (that's what I prefer) but I've noticed that stuff starting on the East Coast generally starts back early from the west coast so long overnights are not happening (on the West Coast) BUT I work weekends because of "Juniority" and am done in Domicile fairly early from "PM's" on weekends (usually Saturday!)!

Wait until you see what we b!tch about here at SWA.

A crappy profit based raise of only 3%.

A company paid for Telex ANR headset that nobody likes.

We even have guys b!tchin about having to pay $24 a month to support our fellow brothers who are unfortunately sitting on the sidelines with permanent disabilities.

Welcome aboard!

$24 a month to help your less fortunate brethren and paying for your own parking. Oh the insanity. Say it isn't so.

I did that one last month....... If it showed about 2 hours later, it'd be the PERFECT trip.....
