Same here . . . . .But when Planning's incompetence leads them to build lines that are not contract-compliant, Management's humongous ego and miniscule equipment prevents them from doing the right thing and just simply fixing it.

The pain will soon be over.

..... with a contractual minimum of 10 hours rest, or more like 14 or 15 hours on average.

Gup

Thanks to the AT guys, you guys now will have the opportunity to do allnighters. Yes, they a lot of them from the West Coast to ATL, MKE, and BWI I think? So, that is yet ANOTHER thing the AT guys allow you to have thanks to this merger. Are you greatful? You had better be. And, just hope those flights don't have a couple legs prior to that allnighter, because that would suk. SEA-SJC-LAX-ATL arriving at 5am in ATL would not be fun. THANKS AT GUYS!

Bye Bye---General Lee

And the saga continues:

From the Fastread-
We are also aware the company has created pairings with reduced rest. The company has acknowledged this mistake, and we are working together toward a satisfactory resolution. While the company has improperly scheduled reduced rest, remember, it is incumbent upon the pilot to self-assess fatigue, and maintain the highest level of safety and professionalism.

First the new reserve min days off doesn't start yet, now there are lines with insufficient rest.

This "mistake" sounds very similar to their mistake several years ago with SAP in December. This sounds more like business as usual at da Tranny!

I wonder how the schedules and reserves will look for SWA pilots this month?

The games with mgmt will continue until the day all AT pilots work under SWA, and this day CANNOT COME FAST ENOUGH!!!

What do you expect? SWA needs its susidiary to make money and show a great quarterly profit.

Just flew with a guy that was bitching about the company paying us for our physicals. He was against the side letter because this extra income was going to be taxed. YGTBSM. This was nothing compared to the NPRM tirade he was on. Some guys here have no perception of reality.

Wow! That is incredible! The lines at Airtran are close... but not quite as good.

The average lines at Airtran for January:

63 hours credit with 95 hours of block;
Average of 8 days off;

The good thing is that there are plenty of Reserve lines to choose from.

I think the 737 bid package shows 250 Total lines:

45 hard lines
50 CDO (Standup) lines
150 reserve lines

There are 5 lines that have nothing on them. Those lines are for people to come in and work a 12 hour "SecurityPatrol" rotation in the crewroom. This is neccessary with all the convicted felons that Airtran employs.

Good times ahead I am sure....

You laugh but this is EXACTLY the way it was/is at UPS except no CDOs

Wait until you see what we b!tch about here at SWA.

A crappy profit based raise of only 3%.

A company paid for Telex ANR headset that nobody likes.

We even have guys b!tchin about having to pay $24 a month to support our fellow brothers who are unfortunately sitting on the sidelines with permanent disabilities.

Welcome aboard!

Love the b/tching about rampers in Vegas bc they don't sprint to the cross in 1000* heat -
Go sit in the penalty box at ohare for 45 minutes and our most thuggish OAK ramper will look like a god sent angel

Have to say, the MCO lines are starting to look a little more like ATL lines. Uncommutable on one or both sides, a lot of crappy CAK/PIT/BWI overnights of 18-22 hours (WTHeck am I going to do in CAK with 22 hours?)

On the up-side, the average days off is 17 for January, and if I jump in quick enough after SAP 2 is done, I can usually dump half of my line (the really crappy trips) and re-build it out of open time as the month progresses.

On a serious note, question for the SWA guys and gals: I like a short leg followed by a long leg followed by 18-22 hours in LAS or SFO, 7 hours for the day, 20 hour 3-day trips or 26 hour 4 day trips (I have one starting on the 26th with 22 hours in LAS). I'm not all that fond of 4-5 leg days every day for that same 7 hours of block and a 12-13 hour overnight in MLI or LBB. ;)

Do the 2-leg days with longer west-coast flights and longer blocks with long overnights exist in the SWA system and how senior do they go?

Thanks,
