I have tried seaching the boards and can't find any specific info on SWA benefits. I am sure it is there but can someone answer a few questions-

  1. How much is the employee portion of health care
  2. Are the pay rates in Airline Pilot Central accurate?
  3. Is OAK still a Jr base?
Thx for any help

Oak is the most jr. I don't know the pay scales you refer to but here are the current rates:
1st yr FO 45.90
2nd yr FO 77.45
3rd yr FO 86.22
These are per trip so by the hr they would be slightly higher. I think you can multi. by the trip pay by 1.15 for hourly pay rates.

Health care price varies by which plan you choose.

question # 1

Here's a reply to question #1

I'm married, two kids. I'm on the EPO/HMO plan. My deduction from my paycheck is $21.25/paycheck. Twice a month that works out to $42.50 for the month. In '07 that goes to $52.50/month.

That plan is the least flexible with regard to doctors (although I haven't found a doctor not on the plan in the last 2 years). Office visits are $15. I think ER visits are $100. Prescription drugs are $7. Everything is covered 90/10. No deductible.

Under the lesser plans the coverage is 80/20 with a deductible - I think it is $500.

I like the plan.

1. Like Benhuntin said, it depends on how many you cover. I can tell you it's AWESOME (seriously) compared to anywhere else I worked (ATA came close before concessions, though). Right now, for just me alone (no dependants), I spend $5 a month on United Healthcare PPO in 2006. A family would be $25 to $45 a month depending on PPO or HMO. This includes basic dental. Rates in 2007 go up, but I forget how much. The deductibles and copays are very competitive, too.

I think I may remember reading insurance varies by the location of your home, too.

2. You probably know we're not paid by the hour, but the conversions on Airline Pilot Central are about right (but they will always be estimates).

3. OAK is definitely a junior base for FOs, but not captains. My guess is LAS will be very junior, too, perhaps on the same level as OAK for the first year or two. Who knows, though.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. Got a call for the interview, it really caught me off guard, no type, update every 3 months or so. Though I better start looking into things before the interview.

The thought of leaving behind supplimental frieght, 1% 401K match, $500 per mo family health insurance, may be hard to do but I think I can cope with it.
