Was at the OBAP conference this weekend in Seattle. Yesterday, each airline in attendance was given a short block of time to present the state of their company and future plans. One after one, the airline representatives strode to the podium and spoke about their airline. Almost without exception, the speeches were very informative and very professional. Some of the speakers were even very funny. Great stuff all around.
But then, the SWA team took the stage toward the end of the show and it very quickly became clear to me why SWA continues to grow and prosper: the employees love to work for their company! The SWA presenters were singing and dancing; they were really having fun in their quirky SWA way while briefing a banquet room full of pilots. I swear I could sense passion in the voice of the speaker. They were different...not different bad, but different good (really good).
I promise I didn't drink any Kool-Aid there at OBAP, and please don't hold an intervention for me after I say this, but I think I became a real believer in SWA this weekend.
