I am doing my best to withold judgement until I read it but........

The devil is in the details. I'm VERY skeptical that it's any better than TA1 - just worded differently.

Gup

All I want is a provision to get rid of the animals. Crying babies are bad enough, but barking, pooping dogs? Stop the madness!!

unfortunately...I don't believe any pilot contract will have ANY control over poohing K9s.

Agreed!! Had a cat get loose and run around the cabin and found a nice spot to piss. Thought the "Boystown" FA was gonna piss on someone too. Yikes!

No scope/merger improvement

No reserve rules......still!!!

Same POS as last time, only it doesn't smell as bad......

Scope/merger improvements were already agreed to as stated previously in a SWAPA email. As were all other sections except for compensation and retirement.

I might be wrong but I think those were the only 2 open sections going into Labor Day weekend. But, we shall see. As stated above, El Diablo is in the details...

Sounds like it's still just 2% as well. I'm glad we as SWA pilots are not valued as much as the FAs and Mechs. Maybe I'll have a FA or Mech next to me doing my RNP S2 training next month. They are doing it for their 1% and I'll be doing it for free.

I wanted to see a parity increase and a change (improvement) in reserve language. Heck, all I wanted to see was a stick to your RAP. Meaning, if I have the seniority to hold PM Reserve, I simply don't want to be flying an AM Shift.

Does anyone else think the fact that this is agreed to just before elections is fishy?

Amen Gup.......

I am also quite skeptical. This BOD has been very vocal about being dissapointed that TA1 failed. I can't imagine them chainging their spots, in spite of the "we've heard you loud and clear" rhetoric.

SWApA's "counteroffer" that's been on the table for the last week or so, for lack of better words, sucks as bad as TA1.

Unless they miraculously pulled a rabbit out of the hat, I'm betting it's another no vote for me......

AIP worse than TA1

Really? 2%2%0%2%? Everyone else takes 3% YOY and retro.

We give up the farm in code-sharing. No protection against increased code-sharing and shrinking SWA flying?

And - guys are on the SWAPA board yelling yippie about their $500 retro check. Awesome. Just give the farm away for your 4%. Meanwhile the guys/gals in the back get their 12%.

Seriously. This was pushed out before the elections.

I miss ALPA.

Don't need it, just slow the place down and it would bleed cash.

Seems this new TA which was promised to be equal to the first one, is about 4% less over the term than the first one. The BOD will regret it if they send it to the members for a vote.

I assume you are not a FA. Maybe you should consider your salary compared to other pilots in the industry. The agreement has nothing to do with the elections.

Just do us a favor and quit now if your so unhappy.

If any of you are really a SWA pilot posting, remember the day you interviewed. Were you that person, or someone who should be working somewhere else? The industry sucks. Don't put the nail in the coffin and let us join the rest of it.

Where did you come up with the 4%?

Please explain how you came up with this. I was told the $ in this TA is the same as the first one.

2,2,0,0,2 is not equal to 2,2,2,0,0 unless you are really bad at math. the 4% is wrong though, it works out closer to 1%. the example was a theoretical pilot making 100. the difference worked out to be TA1 was worth $4700 more over the 5 years out of 520,000 or so. so about 1% a year less. not a big deal. but it certainly isn't worth more.

Yes, whatever we do lets not speak up like we were hired to do and offer criticism to make the place better, lets keep our hole shut and let the ship sail off into the iceberg...

heres a better idea, lets all shutup til the TA comes out, I'll be first. Ciao.

There will be a lot of complaining and fussing, but in the end this will pass by about 65%.

Yup yup. For sure. I think TA 1 would pass if they just printed it in a nicer font and sent it back.

Pilots

Can someone please explain to me why pilots wish other pilots anything but support and the best. Especially in light of the fact that if we benefit, then everyone benefits.

I do not see other labor trades, teachers or contract employees doing this.

This is my third airline. I'm a former ALPA elected volunteer. Needless to say I am frustrated by the lack of knowledge, flame and lack of brotherhood amongst pilots (swa ta, frontier aqui).

Here's to the downward spiral of our profession. Cheers.

I heard ta3 was agreed to about 1 hour ago. Torti ran it by the class in the training center. The deal was basically TA 1 but ca pay would be 400K per year. fo pay 300K. the schedule would be to work only thursday am or pm your choice. One pilot raised his hand and said "every thursday?" Good luck making everyone happy! That being said CODESHARING IS OUTSOURCING!!

It really is mind boggling isn't it?

It also permeates the industry beyond anonymous message boards. I can't tell you how many times I have had a guy in the jumpseat crucifying this airline or that airline.

It is our biggest downfall. Pattern bargaining only works during positive GDP times. We pattern up during the good times, but it takes years, and we pattern down during bad times, but it takes months or even weeks.

Nobody thanks the last represented group during the good times. But nobody hesitates to attack the first group that takes a pay cut.

It is all very sad and predictable. Unfortunately we have been doing the same thing for decades and still haven't learned that it doesn't work.

Come on.

I'll bet you bitch about your wife from time to time. I love her dearly but sometimes she really pisses me off.

Same thing.
Gup
