a friendly reminder...

For those of you receiving favorable decision board results, congratulations! Just a quick reminder... to ensure I don't miss someone posting their info on this site, please open the unofficial pool list (SWA Pool on the top of each thread), click on the hyperlink to the "[email protected]", and post your info there. That ensures I receive and correctly transcribe your important information in the most timely manner.

I have the nums for roughneck and texaSWA... congrats to all!

Congrats to you new SWA pilots...ya done great. Would you mind sharing how they passed the good news to you, what extra steps they required afterwards or what steps you already had done prior to the call, etc. Got a friend who swears if you get sent for a drug test (generally speaking across all of the various airline's interview processes, not just SWA), that the next step is a class date. Others say that once they start spending money on your background checks and stuff, you've got a solid shot at the brass ring. Others say not until you get the call from someone offering a class date...any words??? Thanks from all us jealous wannabees...

I was blessed to get a call from SWA also.

App: Aug 2002
Type Dec 2002
Interviewed: 16 March 2004
Called on 19 April 2004

They only offer to "continue the process." Which means they send you for a drug test and forward your information to the background check people. Very nice and professional, but as stated on previous posts, you ae not "officially" offered a job until you are on property. Given this outstanding company, however, you've got a job when you get a call (my opinion).
Good luck to all!

Congrats

I'm in the 04-05 class. Can't wait to get you into OAK and me to BWI!!!! Company is great. Certainly no second rate treatment round here. Whole company is first class all the way. What you didn't know is how cute all the ladies in the people dept are until you get here. My wife def wouldn't have let me "call in" for updates so often if she knew. (just kidding)

Everything here is better than anticipated. If you are in Dallas before classes come by and say hello at the Renissance.

Well back to class

I'm "moving forward" in the process too! Good luck to the rest of the April interviewees. Keep those calls coming!

For all those folks with upcoming interviews at SWA I highly recommend interview preparation of some sort. Before I separated from the USAF I worked with Fae Simmons at the Family Support Center at Randolph AFB. Fae helped immensely. She taped our mock interview sessions and gave outstanding advice on all aspects of the process.

I also HIGHLY recommend Craig Thorton at [email protected]. Craig is a great guy with a great feel for what SWA is looking for during the interview. I did his telephone prep and ALL his advice was right on!

Finally, for those interested in getting the 737-type, Higher Power Aviation is definitely the way to go. I can't say enough about Mark Stearns, their training program/instructors, and their great working relationship with SWA. Good luck!

App: Oct 2002
737-type: Feb 2003
Interview: March 17, 2004
Called: April 20, 2004

I also highly recommend Craig Thornton. Does anyone in-the-know have any idea of percentage of successful interviewees from this DB?

Some still waiting...

I heard 69 got the call to "begin the process" out of 140ish. However, there are some of us who are still waiting (no call or letter). Supposedly we got kicked to the next board. I personally know of three who got rejection letters, but don't know a total figure for that.

It basically means if they dont find anything in your background check or in your pee, your good to go.

Don't read anything into getting delayed to the next board. It's not a sign good or bad, it just indicates how quickly references could be reached, records could be obtained, etc. No "points off" for time from interview to decision board.

Waiting is a bear, no doubt about it, but they only invited you to the interview because they figured you look like somebody they'd like to hire. All the best!

Thanks Snoop...

Snoop, thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm probably still going to sweat a little (understatement of the year). My wife is about ready to shoot me.

March 22 interview here.

Just did the drug test.

Great interview, the people were very laid back and very straight forward. It was very impresive

I hope it's almost time to celebrate.

Good luck to all of the May interviewies

Keep the faith

More "intel"

I heard today (from a roadside oracle in Louisiana that was told by a dog that knows Herb K's cat) that 103 people got looked at on the 14 Apr board. 69 out of 103 made it (according to the ever popular rumor-mill).
