Of course it was a mechanical. Not to your airplane, but another one. So they took yours. Technicallities.:bawling:

One of my favorite ASA screwups was when they cancelled a FAY flight to give the airplane to us to go to PFN. Now that doesn't seem like much, but the FAY flight was boarded, and had actually pushed off the gate when they made the decision. The tug dragged it back into the parking spot, they got everyone off, and then gave the ship to us. The FAY flight was full, the PFN flight was about 3/4 full.

I"ll do you one better. I remembe when the E-120's ruled the roost, and RJ's were just coming in force. I think it was ALB that had negotiated an "all jet" contract with ASA. The first day of "all jet" service, they had the city council, mayor, and various Chamber of Commerce folks at the airport to celebrate their enty into the "jet age."

Well, the load to ALB was so poor they down graded to a burger king brasilia for the first day of "all jet" service. The local press had a field day, and the officals were livid with ASA....but who cares, ASA already had their money.

If/when ASA dies it will be like the closing of a toxic waste dump--it's a shame that people lose their jobs, but overall the world will be a better place.

I loved watching them about a billion years ago. I then became a schmendrick CFI at a place with an AST-300, and a fuel jock at the same FBO came up and asked to play.

He did really, really well... and I found out he had 800 hours in the BKzillia for ASA so far that year, and it was summertime.

Good times. Good luck, fellers. I'm watching and hoping it all works out.

I appreciate the ride to/from TLH when I go home so much... but I simply watch in amusement as I have not once had an on time flight on ASA in 3 years. You guys are great.. sucks what you have to put up with. NWA 744 FO that was also jumpseating with me to DTW the other morning commented to me that ASA's ATL operation makes Pinnacle look like the ultimate in performance. Wow.
