I see on Sun Country's website that they're accepting applications for pilots. 2500 TT and 500 Turbine PIC are the basic requirements. I think it'd be an awesome place to work, espically if you live in MSP....but are you going to get furloughed in 6 months? Sounds like Peter's is going to try and build them up which would be awesome! Give NWA some good competition! They do a much better job than NWA and they even feed you.

Any ideas on their future?

This is my ideal place, so I sent one in. :) It's a long-shot for me, but I REALLY don't want to go back to Mesaba.

Actually, I think they are going to look at Mesaba guys more. They know you guys got screwed. Good luck!!

I was hoping for a pity hire :D I have an ATP and more than enough total time, but my multi PIC is lacking a bit. Gotta give it a shot!

If you know someone, it helps. We do have some Mesaba guys here, you might want look them up and see if you know anyone who would walk a resume in for you.

Good luck! My brother in law is an FA there and he loves the company despite having been through furlough. They seem to treat their people nicely. I'm rooting for you!

Sun Country-Fourlough?

Since they plan on hiring in the spring, I heard that it's unlikely they will fourlough anyone this summer, with the growth that is planned they need to keep everyone on the payroll.

I heard this from some reliable sources in management. But, you never heard it from me...................

Seeeeyaa!!!

Final recall notices will go out next month to all remaining furloughed pilots. Those that come back will go to class in April.
QOL is excellent if you live in the MSP local area. Currently there are very few layovers. We do have lots of commuters. CAS is finally supposed to be online by end of January. Health insurance is subpar in my opinion.

Has anyone heard anything from Sun Country? How long are they taking to call back, interivew gouge etc.

I have it from a good source that they are merely collecting resumes and getting the hiring process organized right now. The soonest anyone will get a call is this spring.

April is the first class back for the spring. That class will consist of Furloughees coming back in the recall process. Also, some guys may be coming back after having to resign their seniority number to get a job elsewhere. I have been told by a number of sources that those guys get first shot at the new hiring. They'll be at the bottom, but they will be back if they want. Then finally it will go to the street, probably around late spring early summer.
