Apparently David Neeleman (former ceo of Jet Blue) was over here last week, and we happen to be in the market for a new CEO. I may be taking a guess but could he have been interviewing for a job? That would be good news for sunny employees.

I was told he was invited, but at the last minute he had family issues and couldn't make it. I also heard it was not for a position, it was more to visit a friend (Petters). Again, last I heard he was not in MSP and for sure not at Mendota Heights.

I can't believe there wouldn't be a non-compete clause restricting him from this kind of employment for a while.

Oops, sorry. How long has G. Bethune been out of the business?

How 'bout Carty, or is he still at Virgin.

Then there's Wolfe!

I'm sure there's lots of rumors going around everywhere for everyone to suit all tastes.

Then there's Wolfe!...

Wolf only goes where he can get millions and millions upon leaving and I doubt Sun Country would qualify for that.

Republic was his high school graduation.
United was his masters thesis.
USAirways was his doctoral dissertation.

Does anybody have an idea when they may start hiring?

They just hired 4 for a November class. I think that is all for awhile. They finished up the recall list and hired the 4. We've had 6 or so retirements in 07 and have another 6 or so in 08. I know some of you are thinking big deal, but remember we only have around 150 pilots. The retirements help junior guys move up, although I hate to count on retirements to move up or to look forward to hiring. Good luck in the future, but I think it will be this time next year before they hire again.

I second that!!!

BTW Bethune is on the Board at Aloha Airlines.
