Anybody have any update with Sun Country? Didnt Petters announce their getting some "elite" A318's with 18 seats in them? Any word on recalls and hiring as well?

The 318's will be for resale or for lease, Sun Country has nothing to do with that as far as we know. Petters has an independent "Aviation Group" under his umbrella of companies.

Sun Country has finished with the furlough list, so everyone has been recalled. Returning pilots will be in ground school in late summer. No word on hiring yet, sorry.

We got 7 737s right now, getting 2 more this summer, 1st one in late july now thanks to parts issues at boeing and 2nd in mid august. Supposed to be getting 2-3 more in '08. Then we also have short term leases on 6 of Transavias jets in the winter months.

I wonder what a merger of Midwest and Sun Country would be like???

Sun country flies all 800 series 737 I believe and Midwest is looking for a third area of emphasis. Sun Country has the international and the ETOPS.

It would be interesting anyway, hmmmm

Don't spend a lot of time on it. Last time I checked, Sun Countrty was still privately held. Plus, Midwest has a myriad of problems of their own that they can't set straight. And they don't have any money to acquire ANYTHING. I'd say also, the two used to compete in MKE, but that really has no bearing. YX and NW have been slugging it out every few years in MKE, but now YX has a codeshare with NW.
