Stupid Question

Do helicopters have that same minimum altitudes as airplanes. Such as 1000ft agl in congested areas. Just kind of wondering, because I see them flying maybe about 200-300ft every now and then…

Nope, accually there are quite a few FARs that don't apply to helo's.

They're in different "airspaces" and can receive clearance for lower altitudes than you what you would see for airplanes. IE news choppers. fyi medical flights get priority in their requests also

They do not fly any higher than they are willing to fall. After all, they are helicopters.
