ALPA National's mantra: "Strength from Within" doesn't apply to the US Airways pilot group. Consider the following sad commentary on their brand of union brotherhood...
Earlier this year, the Airways pilot group was polled. At issue was whether or not to extend COBRA insurance benefits for one year, to the soon-to-be furloughed Airways pilots and their families.
Out of over 6000 elegible voters, only 2000 responded. Out of that number, 1300 were soon-to-be furloughees, who voted in the affirmative. Of the remaining 700, the majority voted against a health insurance benefit extension for their brother and sister Airways pilots.
Maybe they should change their slogan to: "Screw 'em, they're on the street!"
