Guys - STOP IT. Seems like recently this board has temporarily (permanently?) gone downhill. We have adult professional pilots acting like children. Airtran sucks. SWA rocks. Flying night freight ala UPS/FDX sucks. The military sucks. Hold on......SWA sucks. Airtran rocks. FDX/UPS is the best. And everything in between. Some dude (name not mentioned) posts SWA quarterly earnings and he gets blasted. A FDX dude talks about how he likes it at FDX and he gets blasted...."you won't live long, nights will kill you." Nice comment...real professional.

Since it is a "privilege" to be at FDX or SWA now, somehow some employees there feel they have Carte Blanche to make fun of other people or the other company....

SWA hiring info
Cool airports to fly to
FDX new airplane rumors
FAR help
Jobs
Hotel recs
other cool stuff, etc, etc

Now, we have more morons (or moronic behavior) than we have professionals or professional behavior.

We all have "razzed" members if they had some bona-fide silly questions, and hey, this is the internet, if your feathers get ruffled then maybe you don't need to be here. Fake pilots are really plum pickings here, as they should be.

HOWEVER, with that said, things seem to have reached the "next level" around here and only WE can police ourselves. Not unlike "lowering the bar" or pay for training or "allowing" companies to pay regional copilots $15,000 a year. On this forum, WE decide what goes.

Yes, I am guilty of some mis-deeds also, I am not the FI Happy Angel myself. My sarcasm and dry humor and "direct approach" have hurt some feelings and generated some elevated blood pressure levels. HOWEVER, again, I think everybody needs to pull the condition levers on the immaturity that has run amok lately and start fresh.

Guys, I mean, come on now....

And no, SatPak doesn't need to "lighten up", I think most of us would privately agree that I am on the money with this....

I agree totally with Satpak...he has hit the nail on the head. I know tensions are running high everwhere, I think this is a great place to vent those concerns if the conversation can be constructive and productive. We need each other, we are the only folks that understand this crazy business and we are the same people that are supposed to Love aviation...

Management has the job to manage the company, pilots fly, dispatcher work the plans etc..we all have our own reason to be where we are...

Lets try to help each other, be happy for those that are happy with their success, work to do something positive for yourself if you are not as happy about yours, asking here for advise, even assistance should be welcomed by all, as well have either walked those same steps, or we know that other will be soon...

If you really want to start fresh, you might want to think about removing your "owned" list.

I did start fresh, and I spend most of my time on other boards (I also spend less time on bbs's in general as my reserve blocks become fewer and farther between) but the "civil" boards are also the least visited. My buds that run airlinesforum.org tried to spice up their board to attract new people but that didn't work and now they have removed, hopefully forever, their adult section. In short, it seems that contoversy is what keeps these forums running. Much to my chagrin.

If you think it's bad here, you should try the FAL files. I got cussed at by a moderator on my first post at the site and all I did was offer a suggestion to a manufacturer (DS Arms) on that manufacturer's threading section, to look into putting together some sear hosts for all the FNC sears that are without host rifles. Jeeze, you'd think moderators of forums would show at least a modicum of restraint when chastising a new member.

This board has to be taken with a grain of salt, and not too seriously. However all that aside there is a ton of good intelligence that comes off this board on what is happening in the industry. For that reason it is worth while to check it out. You occasionally have to put up with poster who should be in a padded room talking to themselves, drunks who want to stir the pot, impersonators, and evil people who add nothing to anything worthwhile, better known as assh0les.

place to let off some steam, see some
clever avatars, get a few laughs and
every once in a while get some good
info...blue moons and flying pigs come
to mind...hehehe!
