What airplanes have the blue "Sterile Cockpit" lights? The EMB-120 I fly has one to notify the flight attendant that conditions require sterile cockpit and not to call us unless it's important. I've noticed that the ERJ-145 has it too. Do others? The CRJ doesn't have it. Do Boeings or Airbuses or is it just an Embraer thing?

Saabs have a blue light which has a dual purpose. First, to indicate sterile flight, and second, to indictate chemical dispersion is in progress, otherwise known as chemtrails.

It's an option on the CRJ, but I don't know anyone that has them. We have the switch on the overhead panel for it, but it's been deactivated.

All of the CRJs at ASA have them. It's called "all the numbers on the altitude tape between 0 and 10,000." Geez, we need a light to tell us when to shut up? What's next, a light to tell us when the lav is occupied?

The light is activated by the pilot to let the flight attendant know that you are steril. At COEX we usually accompanied the light at 10,000 with a chime going up and 2 bells going down also indicating 10 minutes out. On the 717 we make a PA announcement for the flight attendants to perform departure checks going up and arrival checks going down indicating that we are above or below 10,000 and 10 minutes out going down.

The Airbus has such a light....

So do the 75's and 76's at US Airways.......it illuminates when the forward lav is occupied.

For now at ACA in the CRJ we just hit the chime button but our procedure is changing to where we'll flash the seat belt sign instead.

Logolight.....

You need to e-mail or PM me.

Alright, I'm a moron. I misread and though you were referring to a light that tells the crew when it's sterile cockpit. My brain has been less than gracious to me this weekend. Sorry.
