I think 5-6 online now with a total of 20 total for 2005. The remaining 5 will come in 2006 and additional 7 more on top of that for 2006 total 32-34. Also, 4 of those rfp's were changed to crj7's. This was confirmed by a memo from ASA President SB on ASA website yesterday.

:D Right now, we are hiring 20-30 a month indefinately! We cannot keep up with attrition and they can't train people fast enough for the line. If you want a job here, put in your stuff, they are calling people like crazy! I expect more 700's on the way. Grinstein does not like the 50 and will change all of those that he can! Hopefully the last 20 will be 700's. It is just a much better airplane all the way around....power, space, etc.

Why are we not upgraging at a steady rate then??? Every prelim bid only has a couple of Captain vacancies, and the last couple were ATR. I, for one, dont think there is as much attrition as people claim to hear. 10-15 per month.......come on. Where are they going? All I know is my relative seniority on my a/c NEVER goes up. Status Quo. If there was all this attrition, and new airplanes arriving like clockwork, wouldnt there be more movement and upgrades?

One big reason that we can't get guys online quick enough is that many of the people that are leaving are IPs. Also, I have heard that in the past few classes there has been several no shows.

The reason there are no upgrades, is because it the only ones leaving are F/O's. 5-6 year (or more) for an upgrade?? You can go over to Mesa or CHQ and be making more $$ in half that time.

With the CRJ's coming online, wouldn't that drop your upgrade times by a year or two? Wouldn't want to wait for a whole lotta time...

Another question: Do most start out at ATL, or is there a chance for SLC? What's the seniority like at either base?

Thx, Navin

The last final award that I saw had a few FO's going to SLC with maybe 6 months with the company at the most.
