All pilots are invited to participate and that includes each of YOU...

As United pilots we are reminded every day when we see the proliferation of RJs that outsourcing poses a severe threat to our careers. Now UAL and Aer Lingus managements are probing the efficacy of a new international outsourcing scheme by taking advantage of the new “Open Skies” regulations between the U.S. and E.U. with the new Aer Lingus service between IAD and Madrid. This scheme allows UAL to get revenue without operating in a market. We need to send our management a message that this is unacceptable to United pilots.

Therefore, United Pilots and our fellow employees will be conducting informational picketing in front of UAL WHQ at 77 W. Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday March 17, 2010. All pilots are encouraged to attend. If you can make it please RSVP with an email to [email protected] and include your name, mobile phone number and any questions or comments.

Schedule of events:
0945 – 1000 Meet in front of the United Building at 77 W. Wacker Drive.

1000 – 1230 Informational picketing outside of the United Building/Board Meeting.

1230 – 1240 Tidy up and gather locally as desired.

Uniform: Uniform including jackets and hats.

Transportation: The best way to get to the event is via public transportation. The following links should be helpful. Parking is also available in the vicinity of WHQ.

Good luck-

If this means the "flying public" will get to save $12 on a round-trip fare, they will gladly encourage any (and eventually every other) airline to engage in similar behavior.

-Welcome to the sh*t, fellas.
(This whole industry is on greased rails to hell.)
-Next stop-cabotage.

Im Out

1. im out b/c ALPA national, ALPA UAL, and the pilots havent gone full out bore against it- you cant tell me it takes two years to get a judgement against this schit--- and by the way as much as i wish it not be legal-- it is---- UAL ALPA shouldve understood that and tried a different tactic- now there is absolutely zero anyone can do, b/c a decision wont be rendered before startup- not that it would matter- but even int he slightest chance it was "illegal" do u know how hard it is to stop something once it starts-- it's nearly impossible

2. There is no unity amongst the pilot group- nothing but division of certain groups-- cap-FO, sen-junior, wide-narrow, etc

3. the airline and the pilots there are mostly awesome- but my god the union is run worse than at Trans States.- it's like a bunch idiots who dont know how to word things, plan ahead, strategize- it's absolutely embarassing that the pilots are P-Owned nearly every day.

4. Union needs more balls-- give up the circle walking and come up with a hard lined plan - other wise your just expending resources-- i personally think it becomes a huge moral loss when you do all this crap and everything goes on as planned anyway- and wait til the judgement comes out--- that will really sting.

5. We need nothing but furloughed people in the elected ranks---IE we need a little pissed off attitude in there as well

SKIPPY-- things wont change, until things change
