NORDO squawk 7600. Emerg 7700.

Is there a squawk for being able to hear center but unable to respond?
I've always wondered about that. What if you can hear center but they
can't hear you. Obviously you can respond to center's commands, they
just don't hear the read back. It seems the NORDO squawk would fit but
center may have no idea you're able to hear them.

Anybody?

Squawk 7600,
You can confirm by clicking your mike if it still transmits a carrier wave, otherwise by pushing the IDENT button on your transponder.
" Turn to heading 140 confirm IDENT..."

Yeah, they'll always ask you to ident for an acknowledge before they write you off as NORDO. If that happens, they'll know you can hear them, and they'll just have you ident to ackowledge.

Not a pilot but worked the ground side of the comms in the service.
I always wondered but never bothered to ask any of the pilots.

Thanks.

P.S. I think it was more than obvious --- I am not a pilot.
