Got it from one of our former pilots who was laid off by Spirit in the fall, that all Spirit pilots will be recalled by January.

Your friend gave correct inf. As you know, never count on it until you see the plane leaving the gate, so managment may change the recall tommorrow. But we have recalled all forloughed pilots for the January schedule.
There is even rumor of a newhire class in Febraury or March.
