Orstein is on the board at Spirit. That would be enough to keep me away. Don't forget Bill Franke is also. All you need is Wolf, Gangwal, and Lorenzo, and you would have a Royal Flush.

It really boils down to your taste in chicken. Do you prefer Popeye's or Pollo Tropical?

Whoever you chose, keep all doors open;your F/A today may be your assistant chief pilot tomorrow true story, crazy industry.

I'll take my chances with that.

As to the original question:

1) set your sights higher.
2) get hired before asking this question

Show us they can't, meatball!!!!!!!

$110 for Airtran is a $110 for Spirit more or less. Spirit's cost structure was pretty competitive, and so was Airtran. Granted Airtran is bigger but Delta is even bigger even without NW. We will never be able to figure out the future.

I think it is better to look at it this way:

Higher risk at Spirit due to the many different scenarios how the future can fold out. IPO, contract etc... My personal fear is that someone who I really don't want to work for takes over us. But if things do go as planned Spirit is a quicker upgrade than Airtran. On the other hand Airtran's future does not seem to hold that many variables. You settle for probably a longer upgrade in exchange of less risk. It makes sense both ways.

How about where do you want to live? I would not commute for ANY airline ever again, unless for a short time.
