Hi
I finally reached the minimums for Spirit. including 1000 121 turbine PIC .
Some of you guys know me from this website or other ones (hi shrek

) and know I have been working hard at meeting the minimums.
I gave my resume to my friend who is going to give it to "the right person".

Anyways, long story short:
is spirit still interviewing ?
How many classes left before hiring stops (a guy told me last class in july)

thanks

Hiring Outlook

saviboy,

I don't have a crystal ball, but I'll give you what I do know/what I've dug up:

-Spirit is still interviewing; I have two friends interviewing next week in DTW.

-As for the "last class in July" speak...from what they told us, the training dept. gets the authorization from the Suits of Miramar to hire X amounts of pilots within X amount of months...that gets modified (and luckily continued) as the months go by. In simple terms, they were probably given the okay to hire through July back in March/April; they'll revise it as July nears.

-The airline is increasing aircraft utilization from around 7-9 hours/day use up to around 13 hours/day...primarily through 30 min. turns and red-eyes from the West/Carib. More hours = more manpower needed to babysit an Airbus.

-This one is hard to get an answer on, but here's something interesting I dug up:

"The airline is taking delivery of six Airbus aircraft in 2007 and three in 2008. Aircraft arriving in the next two years are part of a previous Airbus order. Earlier this week, Spirit tapped Airbus for 30 more A319s for delivery in 2009 through 2013." -AviationWeek, January 24, 2007

No one seems to have an answer for the "how many more before 2009 orders come" question, but I hope this information is accurate. I believe we've gotten 2 so far this year.

I hope this information helps keep some wind in your sails...keep in mind, it only takes a few economics farts to send the whole thing to the s%*tter.

BTW, here's a link to the full article:

saviboy, just curious about where you saw the requirement for 1000 trubine PIC. According to their website they don't even have a min. PIC time. Maybe they recently changed it or maybe your talking about competetive mins. Just curious. Good luck to you. I'm interested myself because I have applied with only 700 turbine PIC.

Actually, as far I know, they don't require 1000 turbien PIC. I' m sorry if my sentence was a little confusing.
Spirit does require 1000 turbine (not necessarily PIC) even though it was not listed on the website last time I checked. I saw that on Airlineapps.com
I have been advised to get 1000 PIC, though. I guess it can't hurt.
Good luck

Hiring approved through DEC and more upgrade classes to come as well.

Let the speculation to why begin .......
