I have decided that I would like to spend the next 20 years of my flying career with Spirit.

Wow, I'd just like to spend the next 5 years here....if it lasts that long.

Well, I'm trying to get in too. FLL resident, 4400 TT, 3+ years at American Eagle commuting to DFW (still ERJ F/O though). Would LOVE to fly for Spirit based at home. Really want to work there.
Sent e-mails and résumé to the DO and CP and have my application on file at airline apps. Just need the internal "referral". Any tips or help would be appreciated. Still waiting to see what happens.

They also like to see 1000TPIC. Call it coincidence or not, but I had an internal rec and had my app in there for almost 5 months and kept on updating every week and still no call until I got that 1000. They litteraly called me in two days and I was in class two weeks later.

Yeah, I fully understand. Unfortunatly Eagle with its lifelong upgrade has put lots of F/O's in a bad position to be marketable. However, we've had several that have gone to Delta, CAL and some to Spirit, with no TPIC time. Go figure. It's hard to understand the process.

I wouldn't come here without 1000pic. There's more than a few DTW guys that where hired without it and now there options are very limited. The good news for you is: The recs are drying up, some or many DTW guys will quit or pursue NWA, and we are very short staffed as it is. Oh yeah... One hurricane warning with everyone based in FLL would not be a good thing for generating revenue.
