Who hired these Marketing pros?

Spirit's idiot managers probably felt it was win/win to send the email out to customers - they would get publicity even if they were wrong. Pretty stupid mistake that probably alienates some customers. Plus, I thought most of their customer base in South Florida was Democratic (Ft.Lauderdale area)?

See article below:

well its working for them. can not argue about their bottom line. they make money hand over fist without spending much cash on advertising. pretty smart actually.

That's the thing. People can hate your airline, but it can still be successful. Spirit is one of the most financially profitable airlines in the market, and it is one of the most hated.

In other words you can be a complete ****************************** to customers, cram them in tiny seats, have zero customer loyalty, and youll be profitable. It all comes down to price, this is a commodity industry.

Sad, but true.

Spirit competes solely on price. The business plan is to have the lowest costs in order to sell seats the cheapest, and publicity costs money. Twitter being alive with Spirit mentions fits exactly into Spirit's marketing plan. Those marketing pros Johnso called out probably got a bonus for the publicity.

Also the planes are worked 24/7 and taxes are hit on the ticket fare and not the ancillaries.
