Flight Attendant Job Description

Duties include:

* Responsible for the safety and comfort of passengers aboard the aircraft.

* Check emergency equipment and be aware of hazardous situations in the cabin prior to departure.

* Demonstrate the use of emergency equipment as required and have the ability to lift cabin equipment weighing up to 50 pounds from floor to shoulder level as required to include aircraft doors (pushing and pulling), evacuation slides, fire extinguishers, galley equipment, life rafts and oxygen systems.

* Provides leadership, direction and assistance during an emergency, including aircraft evacuation, administering first aid to ill or incapacitated Customers, and unusual incidents as hijackings, bomb threats, severe weather conditions, turbulent flights, and delayed flights.

* Maintain compliance with all Federal Aviation Regulations as well as Spirit’s policies and procedures.

* Ability to work in varied locations noise levels, lighting, climate, turbulent weather, and continuous confined spaces with frequent contact with others.

* Provide Exemplary In-flight Customer Service which includes assisting passengers with carry on items – which could require overhead lifting, handing out blankets, serving snacks and beverages to Customers and disposing of waste, collection of appropriate cash for alcoholic beverages and ability to account for the receipts as well.

Requirements:

* Previous Customer Service or Business Background

* Must be dependable, energetic, outgoing, team player and have ability to show leadership and good interpersonal skills

* Must be communicative, articulate and service oriented

* Must be able to maintain a polished, professional appearance at all times

* Minimum Age 20

* Must have valid passports/documents with the ability to travel in and out of the USA and to all cities/countries served by Spirit Airlines. Must have valid passport prior to the beginning of training.

* Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

* High School Diploma or equivalent. College preferred

* Ability to work with different personalities and a diverse public on a constant basis

* Ability to work under tight time constraints and multi-task to ascertain on-time departures

* Able to work flexible hours, days, holidays, overtime and work flights that are based on seniority and reserve.

* Able to reach overhead bins, use various safety equipment, routinely lift 50-70 pounds, stand for long periods of time and push/pull catering cart, bend, stoop and reach frequently

* Ability to comply with strict Company Attendance Policy

* Must be willing to relocate if necessary to Detroit or Fort Lauderdale base

* Must be able to pass Flight Attendant Training and coursework according to approved In-flight Training Standards and subsequent Recurrent Training. Ability to comprehend military clock and basic math.

* Ability to read and understand the Flight Attendant Agreement and keep abreast of new policies and general information as it pertains to the job.

* Must be able to read onboard announcements clearly in English, comprehend and communicate in English (in addition to any selected Language of Destination).
