Here is an example for you... though it appears you are so far removed from humanity that you probably won't get it.

Example: Your mother is in the hospital with a disease (pick one). Elsewhere on the planet on some irrelevant website, someone in a war of words uses a picture of your mother as a "funny" insult to another person...... is low scum and cowardly..... period.

If I'm the butt of the joke, then use me... not some sick woman.... you turd.

I'm here having fun... but you're just a scumbag..... big difference you ignorant lowlife P.O.S.

Angie:

No, you're here trolling, and it's a wonder you haven't been banned yet. I don't think you've made one positive contribution since you've been here. Just check your post history. And, nobody really cares if you're having fun. Furthermore, I don't care if you think my story was tasteless, sick, whatever. By the way, she had the tumor excised and looks quite normal now (not that you care, although your false outrage would lead one to believe otherwise).

Don't bother taking the high road here. You have pathalogically low self-esteem, and feel some need to take it out on people you'll never have to meet face to face. How convenient. Don't come here crying when someone gives it right back to you. This is a big boy forum. If you want to be treated with kid gloves, go troll somewhere else. Dig it?

No, it's not a need to take it out on people she/he will never meet face to face, it is a craving for attention. With people like this, even negative attention is better than none. Not enough hugs from mom I guess.

So which is it there "sucks"... I mean "sacks"... I mean "secks". In one sentence you proclaim to have it all figured out that I'm one thing... and then in the very next you show what a mindless wonder boy you are by building a completely different story.

The bottom line is you are an ignorant clod....... and try as you may.... your ignorance and inability to actually construct a common thought with out simply being a pushover..... proves you will never be anything but(t).

BTW- You actually say "Dig it??" What are you The flightinfo "Fonzie"....?? LOL!! What other words can the loser say?? How about "neato" or "cool"?? How about "heyyyy" or "sit on it". LOL!!

im sorry you have such a sad life angus, perhaps your next one will be better...

Windnut:

Thank you for the inapplicable.... yet kind words. I know that they came from your weak yet cholesterol ridden heart. Your "post" while appearing to have been written by a 10 year old.... and very ill placed, and while well intentioned, is an shining example of the words behind the big toe we all know as windnut..

And let me respond that I"m sorry that you are without intellect. Maybe in your next life, proper nurishment, education, and a solid family base will help you reach that next higher level above "mediocre".

Good luck.... and remember to wear a helmet next time so you don't repeat that lawn mower accident injury we all heard about.

Hoot...

... is an extremely nice guy both in & out of the jet, and could fly for any airline he wanted to. He's at Southwest by his choice.

Heh, wasn't this the same guy who flipped out over being referred to as the victim of a gigantic tumor? Now he's making fun of someone's heart problems. He might want to look up "consistency" in the dictionary :) This is too easy. Ok, now I'm done responding to Angie. Promise.

Here's a nice twist to the thread:

Does the statement, "We’ve always done it that way" ring any bells?...read to the end...it was news to me.

The US standard railroad gauge (distance between the rails) is 4 feet, 8.5 inches.

That’s an exceedingly odd number. Why was that gauge used?

Because that’s the way they built them in England, and English expatriates built the US Railroads.

Why did the English build them like that?

Because the people who built the tramways used the same jigs and tools that they used for building wagons, which used that wheel spacing.

Because the first rail lines were built by the same people who built the pre-railroad tramways, and that’s the gauge they used.

Why did "they" use that gauge then?

Okay! Why did the wagons have that particular odd wheel spacing?

Well, if they tried to use any other spacing, the wagon wheels would break on some of the old, long distance roads in England, because that’s the spacing of the wheel ruts.

So who built those old rutted roads?

Imperial Rome built the first long distance roads in Europe (and England) for their legions.

The roads have been used ever since.

And the ruts in the roads?

Roman war chariots formed the initial ruts, which everyone else had to match for fear of destroying their wagon wheels.

Since the chariots were made for imperial Rome, they were all alike in the matter of wheel spacing.

The United States standard railroad gauge of 4 feet, 8.5a inches is derived from the original specifications for an Imperial Roman war chariot. And bureaucracies live forever.

So the next time you are handed a specification and wonder what horse’s ass came up with it, you may be exactly right, because the Imperial Roman army chariots were made just wide enough to accommodate the back ends of two war horses.

Now the twist to the story

When you see a Space Shuttle sitting on its launch pad, there are two big booster rockets attached to the sides of the main fuel tank. These are solid rocket boosters, or SRBs.

The SRBs are made by Thiokol at the factory at Utah. The engineers who designed the SRBs would have preferred to make them a bit fatter, but the SRBs had to be shipped by train from the factory to the launch site. The railroad line from the factory happens to run through a tunnel in the mountains. The STBs had to fit through that tunnel. The tunnel is slightly wider than the railroad track, and the railroad track, as you now know is about as wide as two horse’ behinds.

So, a major Space Shuttle design feature of what is arguably the world’s most advanced transportation system was determined over two thousand years ago by the width of a horse’s ass.......and you thought being a horse’s ass wasn’t important!

Capt,

I heard she's a sweetheart in real life!

If Southwest is indeed PFT it really doesnt matter I guess, because you won't ever have to go anywhere else. (Unless you pull over at the 7-11 in Burbank)

Anus may very well be a nice person in real life, but here she is just a plain ole' a**hole. No pun intended. (Anus you can go to dictionary.com to look up the meaning of pun.) Have a nice day!

And this is strictly hear-say, but I heard that particular SWA pilot was one of the most difficult guys to fly with on the line! Very arrogant, rude, and self-centered

maybe he's overcompensating for the fact that he likes to wear lace panties while conducting IOEs
lots of guys do that

pink ones, in particular

Wow... three idiots in a row...

I see that you have lack the ability to read and comprehend words. Please quote me where I said I was the victim. In fact I said "insult me" not some poor woman..... like you did and thought was so funny. This is what seperates me from the real life low life scum P.O.S. like yourself. Keep on trying though.... because you're in way over your head sucks... I mean sack... I mean secks.

Are you serious? Thats it? You take the time to log on with that original gem? You think that up all by your lonesome? LOL!! Do me a favor.... until you learn how to have an adult debate...... please do not ever log on and try to defend me on any issue you agree with. The first word that comes to mind for you is "LAME".

I see that you still fail to address how and why you feel calling me she is an insult. Are you ready to tell everyone why you have the aversion to women that you have. I love women and would never think that calling someone a woman would be a put down.... then again I've seen alot of new phobias from the ignorant clods just on this thread alone!

There is a song from the Doors that says "women seem wicked when you're unwanted". Could this be the root of your phobia and continued belief that calling someone a woman is insulting. Try logging off the internet and get out and actually MEET a woman (or probably a man in your case) and you'll see that gender hatred like yours is probably easily overcome.

In the mean time... remember that each time you believe you are insulting me by calling me a woman....... you are only further delaying the admission and healing that you will eventually need to get better.

Otherwise we may end up watching a movie about you ala "Silence of the Lambs".

Just to put things in perspective, here's the very first question that was posted for this topic:

Ok I'm sitting here at work thinking of useless questions.

How do the shuttle pilots log time? Do they only log time for certain portions of the flight? Anyone know?

And here's the last post...

Most likely they log it as composite time. A little bit of multi engine time followed by a whole lot of glider time. However, when in orbit, can they really log time in an aircraft that weights 12.5 or more when in fact the aircraft is "weight-less?"

The psycho circus continues...

Looking for a mature debate Anus? Don't think you'll find it here. What did you expect?
You are right about this... because it takes two educated intellects for a debate.... and its obvious that between you and I, there is only one intellect debating and that would be me.

As far as my expectations... I would expect some intelligent replies rather than the education deficient dialogue from the likes of you.

Captain Overs said:
I'll never defend you in a debate,
So by this statement you admit that regardless of the content, regardless if I'm correct or not, you refuse to debate based on merits.

It is readily apparent that you will debate based on emotional immaturity. That is your problem.... you become to emotionally involved on the internet.

tsk..tsk..tsk

Intellegent- Showing sound judgement and rationality.

I thought I'd help you out with that one. Since you're using big words you should know what they mean. You can try and belittle me all you like, but I would be hard pressed to find one post of yours that meets that criteria. Continue living in your fantasy world.

LOL!! I don't really think that intelligent was that big of a word. I certainly know what it means...... but more importantly I know how to SPELL the word. LOL! BTW - I'm sure it was a simple typo BUT it is spelled "intelligent".

I won't labor the point because if you look at my posts... I make typos as well..... but I must point this irony out simply because YOU are questioning MY intelligence. LOL!!

Finally I will let YOU make my point by simply re-posting YOUR little quote earlier.

Going back to the original question...

Yes, shuttle pilots log time from liftoff to touchdown as one flight. I didn't ask if you got day/night time...

What's funnier is filling out the travel voucher...it reads:

Houston, TX to Kennedy Space Center (KSC), FL
KSC, FL to Low Earth Orbit (LEO)
LEO to KSC
KSC to Houston, TX

And yes, they get per diem, but only about a buck a day...because, you guessed it, housing and meals are provided.

Fly Safe,
FastCargo

PS How do I know? The commander of my last active duty base was an astronaut (commander of one of the several missions to Mir) and I got to fly with him several times. I had to ask...

Nice catch! I may need to re-evaluate my image of you. Do you have an English background? No sarcasm intended.

Nope. My degree is Aviation Management.

I will point out that I used a word and thought it was spelled "Wildebeast"... when it is actually spelled "Wildebeest". I would have put a million bucks on that they were wrong... so I looked it up.

But someone rightfully corrected me on it.... so thats why I didn't bag you on yours......it was just funny taken in context of what you were saying thats all.

Sometime people are just ignorant...... you can spot that a mile away.... and others just type too fast.... and you can see that as well.
