G200

Although I don't fly our G200, I believe that our crews and the owner really love this bird. We also use it for supplemental lift for the fractionals. It has great utility.

Is GVFlyer the blond dude in the old Private Pilot magazine ads for Flight Safety?

Curious Minds want to know.

Constant bugs with Honeywell Epic. Everything from Fadec issues to TCAS to autopilot issues. Alot of the problems have been ironed out, but the taste is still there. Cessna wise my major complaint is the ride, barber pole, and size of the cockpit. Cessna had a great idea, but between being a little airplane company and marketing there product seperate from the X, they left a lot to be desired. You didn't hear it from me though:).

We have put 160 hours on our 680 in the last six months. The only thing that is really a major complaint is the size of the cockpit considering the range. If Cessna had made a larger cabin and cockpit, width wise, it would really be hard to beat. Not overly fast but a solid .78 aircraft with.80 in the mid thirties, mid weight. Excellent climb, good hand flying aircraft. We have had no major maintenance issues, but one SB caught us out. Have not flown the other aircraft, but hay, there are very few aircraft that do everything.:)

Besides what Cessna says, that is the first time I have heard such kind things said about reliability with the 680. If they would just slim down the interior sides of the cockpit next to the seats, maybe make the center console narrower, and move the bulkhead back 8 inches, it would be entirely more comfortable.

Yes thats true, but I would think someone out there has enough time in one to form an opinion of it.

I've sat in it. Does that count?

It's a seperate type from the Astra/G100. Gulfstream nose, cabin's a little wider than the G100, it's been cleaned up and from what I've heard will go right up to the 40s and sip fuel (not sure if that's max weight). Apparently it makes all the numbers Gulfstream advertises. It'll easily do coast to coast. The cockpit is very nice complete with the Cursor Control Device, Pro Line and all the goodies, but it seems a little tighter. I think they may have moved the forward bulkhead up a couple of inches to make more cabin room (speculation).

Not a G550, but it's a far cry from the Astra.

I love the 680, and I am in agreement with you all that the cockpit is a little tight. There is not much you can really do about the cockpit size, since the 680, the XLS and the 750 all use the same fuselage (they are all just lenghtend). By doing this cost is kept down. The LCC (Large Cabin Concept) has a much larger cabin and cockpit and should be quite the plane (it was on display at NBAA).

I have only flown the Citations and the G200 back when it was a Galaxy (single digit SN). Cessna has yet to make a comfortable cockpit but the service is stellar. I have not flown the 680 yet but have sat in it and the sim. The Galaxy has a much larger and comfortable cockpit. The service when we had was nice-they had a call out team that would chase you from Dallas. But you better not break anywhere but Alliance FW. The Galaxy's cabin was the quietest cabin ever. NJA must be having the sound proofing insulation removed. Our Galx was heavy at 20K and the 15K of gas put it at gross with no pax. I think they have trimmed down the weight and added 600 lbs to the TO weight. The baggage was nice but we experienced some fun in it. Baggage smoke det warn in flight which turn out to be some wiring issue and was smoldering by the time we landed. Windscreen spider cracked on descent at high 20's-turns out they mis-wired the WS Heat to high all the time. The front door was major problems for coming off the track and getting stuck halfway open and closed. And the APU exhaust duct kept falling off and shutting down the APU. It is the loudest APU ever-but it can make FOG in the cabin with the humidity of S FL. The pax loved the cabin. The 300 looks like a great plane but the wait list is an issue.
