Thanks for the number. The last few times I walked up to the gate, the agents have all told me I should've listed in advance.

The only reason they told you that is it makes their busy jobs harder when they have to put all your info in when they are trying to deal with a lot of paying customers. Your spot in line does not start until you check in with the gate agent and that goes for us employees as well. You must have a PNR # if you plan on checking bags as well.
