Posted on another website was the following info:

New hire classes for this year are being moved forward due to early aircraft deliveries. Expect 1 more class in Aug to follow the one that started 2 Aug...2 classes for Sept.

I didn't get the impression this is two "addtional" classes for the year but merely they have moved the classes forward. I did confirm the info from some new hires who were told the same thing but still trying to get more info.

Lots of movement internally to control costs & get everyone focused on this. Kelly appears to be listening but also is willing to make moves when it makes sense. The new schedule as mentioned earlier is making significant changes in the Dallas base, I was told (not confirmed) 2 DAL-OKC, 2 DAL-TUL flights are being scrubbed along with the earlier annoucned inter Texas flights.

Good luck to the poolies out there awaiting the call...it would appear they may occur sooner than anyone realized....as always nothing is for sure so don't bet the house, sell the kids or move to Mecca in expectation of anything...until you get the call from the Chief Pilot nothing is certain. cheers,

new classes

This is fantastic info. Has anyone gotten a call yet for this Aug class or has anyone else heard the same information so we can substantiate this. If it was anyone else, I would be skeptical but Chase is usually right on the $$$ so this is encouraging news.

I have two buddies in class right now and I've got calls in to them to see if they can confirm the new classes. I'll post if I hear anything back. Pole

Just Floatin'

I thought the water looked more shallow this morning.:D Thanks Chase!

Does that jet dude ever get tired of dancing?

What is the next step after the call to continue? I mean I've done the drug screening, and I have also heard from the company doing the background checks, who needed some additional information. Of which, I asked if he needed anything else and he said no everything else looked good. That's the last I'v heard. My DB was July 20. I guess my question is do I assume that I'm in the pool and just wait for a call from the Chief or should something else be happening in between?

This new news from Chase is great and very helpful, if you can help me sort out the rest that would be great too. Thanks for the info, this would come at a very, very good time!

Tired? I Aint No Stinking Tired!

Tired...yes....tired of it..NO way Jose!:) Life's just too good.

FEM, I know it's hard to wait, but wait you must do. You'll get a CP call a few weeks prior to your class date offer. You've probably already determined your availability through the People people. SWA doesn't firm up a class date until a month out or so. All the class dates through the rest of the year are tentative until announced by the company. Hang in there.

Cheers

Fem, I am in the same boat. I talked to L today & she said I was officially in the pool waiting for a class. Like Cheesemo said, 4 weeks or so out expect a call. I was told around the end of the year for a class. The sooner the better.

Congrats & see you in Dallas for Christmas!

More airplanes on the way

Fleet Update: Southwest Takes Delivery of First Two Jets With Factory-Installed Winglets The first two Southwest aircraft with production-installed winglets were delivered separately this week, bringing our fleet to 409 Boeing 737s. Previously, our aerodynamic winglets were installed after the jets left the factory. The two -700s N475 and N476WN were the first two of six planned deliveries for August, making it the second busiest month of the year for new aircraft. June, with nine deliveries, was our busiest. From September through December, 15 additions are planned. When combined with 11 more -200 retirements, this will put our fleet at 417 by yearend.

__________

This was the projected total at the beginning of the year so there are no changes that I can tell. Whether airplanes are moving up in delivery dates & this is causing the "possibility" of classes being moved up is still unannounced officially...I've heard it from several reliable sources...we can all be hopeful.

Hey Guys

Talked to a DAL CP yesterday and the "TENATIVE" class schedule as of 8/05 was one class in Sept. one in Oct. and I think it had two in Nov and two in Dec.

As always things change constantly, so stay tuned.
