Southwest has no plans to meet FAA fine deadline

Southwest's best strategy is to go to court. The FAA came out looking much worse than SWA in this. SWA self disclosed and it was accepted by the FAA - even thought the disclosure should not have been accepted. The longer SWA drags it out and the more publicly they do it the worse off the FAA looks. They will accept a much lower settlement to get this to go away.

This would set an interesting president. Don't like the fine the FAA has given you? Just say no and negotiate a smaller fine. :rolleyes:

delta and AA cancelled hundreds of flights and they dont wanna' pay 10mil? Now thats some balls.
prolly' planning one last shot at a pizza party to try and mend things

good luck-this is a new FAA that changed b/c of SWA.
