Southwest Airlines says it is adding three new routes from Denver, news that comes as the carrier today unveiled its schedule for the summer of 2011.

Beginning June 5, the carrier will add one daily round-trip flight between Denver and Columbus (Ohio), Jacksonville (Fla.) and Pittsburgh.

Once those flights begin, Southwest will fly 150 daily nonstop flights from Denver to 45 destinations, the airline says in a press release. Southwest notes it re-started Denver service in January 2006 with just 13 daily departures to three destinations.

Bill Owen, Southwest's Lead Planner in the airline's Schedule Planning Department, adds more background on the summer schedule via Southwest's corporate Nuts About Southwest blog.

Owen writes on the blog that Southwest is "now accepting reservations all the way out until August 12, 2011 -- nearly 270 days of bookable inventory. That's the most we've EVER had available for sale!!!"

And, Owen adds that "for a change" with its latest season schedule, no nonstop city-pairs are being dropped from the carrier's schedule. Overall, Owen says Southwest will be adding 54 flights a day to its network.

All hail kings of the aviation world! No one can stop them now, the are unsinkable!

now that would be something to see.. , you just guessing about this or some inside scoop

Think about it. SWA already got a good look at frontier books. They definitely have the knowledge on how to price that company out of the market in the future.

Gotta love the predatory price fixing that SWA does. While the Captain pushes grannies down the jetway, they sink a knife in their brothers' back.

Southwest turned ya down?

Nope, and I'm not against them either. It'll make BB and co. actually have to work to turn our beloved airline into something. But it's the truth. They are predatory and there is no denying it, hell they'll even admit it. That's the nature of it. I'm not going to defend BB's ineptitude in running an airline.
