Where's the best place to stay for a reasonable price. Just staying one night so don't have a lot of time to do much, just don't want to stay at a motel 6...thanks.

Just there last week

I was there just last week, stayed at a Courtyard I believe. It was walking distance from an Outback steakhouse. Great place to hang out. Hope you go on a Thurs-Sat. Otherwise it is dead.

N.C. doesn't know squat about good BBQ! :D

Nothing beats the Eastern Carolina BBQ. That mouth-watering, lip-puckering vinegar-based sauce. Mm-mm-good. Other than this particular fault of yours, I'm sure your a good guy otherwise. :D

mmmm. BBQ...although I prefer the Texas style...I'm headed to that part of NC for a few days too this week. Is there some big golf event going on there?

Yeah, I'm a Texas (Austin) guy, but I also appreciate the value of vinegar based BBQ. In fact, there's a joint west of here called Cooper's that does that, and it's excellent.

But dammit, beef DOES make good BBQ, as does pork, etc...!

Pinehurst "Q", trust me on this. There's a place on just south of the Springhill Suites called "John's BBQ" which is GREAT! You have to remember this is vinegar country, but the pulled pork sandwiches from there are some of the best Q I've ever had.

Since you're only spending a night, and if you want to have a drink, just go across the street from the hotel and go to the Outback as "John's" simply doesn't offer any kind of "entertainment.". But if you really want a bite of some of the best vinegar based "Q" around grab a pulled pork sandwich at John's.

If your in Pinehurst for more than a couple of days and don't golf, just take a rental car and head down to Hilton Head, there's just not a lot to do in KSOP.
