There is no duty day limit for FAR 121 supplemental international operations. (Southern takes advantage of this even on domestic legs by using an international flight number). Therefore due to weather and mechanical problems you will be on duty in excess of 24 sometimes 30 hours.

Dumb question, but what's the crew size to make this happen? We do 26 hour duty days in the C-17 with only 3 pilots (and only one is AC or "Captain" qualified).

60 hour guarantee
20 day work month + they can extend you into days off
no DH pay first year
no matching on the 401K
low pay
no pay during training
be prepared to work some 30 hour duty days

$48/day during training plus hotel paid for.
$100 for every month employed during the year as a year end bonus.
$100 for Turkey Day and Christmas Day if on duty-and CPT treats the crew on behalf of the company (bad CPT-bad treat, good CPT-good treat).
30 hour duty days broken up by hotel room stays (all you have to do is demand-they'll give it).
Home basing.
Great drinking buddies.
Free pilot uniform (includes leather jacket).
Mike Hartley.
I'm thinking, I'm thinking........

Jeez, is he still around??? He's the reason I left the original. Too bad, thought it might be a good place. Good luck.

Thanks for the info.

I have found out a little regarding the current interview process. It is a one day event that includes the face 2 face with Southern check pilots, followed by a sim check in a B737 sim (round dials).

good luck to anyone going to the interviews

It has been difficult to find info on Southern Air. I got the same info the day before yesterday regarding the interview. See you all in Miami...
