Southern Air Transport (SAT) went bakrupt about 3 or 4 years ago. The New Airline, "Southern Air," is alive and kicking. It was revived by the same people that ran it before, but for some reason dropped the "Trasport," part of the name.

The company used to fly DC-8's and C-130's, but now they just fly B-747's. They have a base in MIA and one in LAX. MIA routes go to South America and LAX routes go to Alaska and on to Asia. I believe they have 4 planes right now.

They are currently holding an initial ground school at MIA; guess they're getting more 747's. They hire PFE's and pilots straight into the F/O seat. They type you right out of initial training too!

I believe the starting pay (F/O) is around $50k, not sure, but I think that's right.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on any of this info.
